Living Wednesday to Wednesday #65: Disney/Marvel Mash-Ups

Cap D

"Captain America is a savvy investor" a la the Marvel Smart @$$

Before you run from yet another blog demonizing or praising the acquisition of Marvel Entertainment by Disney, I assure you this is What If? crossover fun for the whole family!

I, too, was overwhelmed by the newsfeeds yesterday. I had received texts, tweets, voicemails, and e-mails before I even woke up yesterday morning. The message board exploded, with the the Disney/Marvel thread reaching 4 pages long before the struck midnight. How were we supposed to cope with the media onslaught that had taken over Acme, CBR, News-a-rama, and IGN?

I called for a "Crossover Off." I probably could have come up with a better name, but hey. Carly and I spent the better part of the afternoon blowing up Twitter with our ideas and a lot of our friends joined in the fun!

Chris Samnee M.O.D.U.C.K.

Chris Samnee's M.O.D.U.C.K. as suggested by Jeff Parker

Emma Frost and Jessica Rabbit - in "Eyes Up Here."

Even Stevens and the Runaways - Gurt convinces Ren and Louis that their parents are supervillains. Molly is convinced that Beans is a mutant, and no one can really deny the possibility. Tawny and Niko have a Goth off. Chase punches Twitty in the junk.

That's So Raven and Astonishing X-Men - in "That's So Blindfold."

Bendis pointed out that he didn't kill the Wasp to make room in the Avengers for Tinkerbell.

Lion King and Black Panther - Scar makes a play for Wakanda's vibranium reserves.

Lockjaw and Pluto

Lockjaw and Pluto from Jen Grünwald's blog

Fantastic Four and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids - in "Honey, I Bombarded Us With Cosmic Rays."

Dr. Strange and Fantasia - Mickey steals the Eye of Agamotto. While trying to use it to clean the Sanctum Sanctorum, he opens a portal to hell and Dormammu comes through. Stephen Strange battles the demon back, and Wong beats down Mickey to take back the Eye, rolling his eyes at the mouse in scorn the entire time.

Lady and the Tramp and Rogue and Gambit - while eating the same piece of spaghetti from opposite ends, the Southern cocker spaniel's nose touches the Cajun tramp's nose and she drains him dry.

Cheetah Girls and Dazzler - written by Jim McCann!

Kraven the Hunter and George of the Jungle - in "The Most Dangerous Game."

TaleSpin and Heroes for Hire - Rebecca Cunningham sees potential in merging Baloo's old charter business "Higher for Hire" with Power Man and Iron Fist's outfit "Heroes for Hire" to form the new "Higher Heroes for Hire." They pound the sky pirates into submission and next time Power Man needs transport to collect on that $20 that Doctor Doom owes him, he won't need to steal a rocket from Reed Richards. Ever episode/ issue ends with Luke making a deadpan crack about how much he hates flying and the rest of the cast laughing.

Famous Jett Jackson and Nick Fury - Jett Jackson: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Herbie the Lovebug and Spider-man - in "Spider-mobile Goes Bananas." As Adam pointed out, Lindsey Lohan, who has experience with possessed cars from Herbie Fully Loaded, could play Mary Jane.

Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century and Abilgal Brand - Zenon: Agent of S.W.O.R.D.

Tigger Tigger

"Face it, Tigger, You just hit the jackpot!"
